Life Without Stuco

Life Without Stuco

Throughout my high school career, I have devoted three of the four years to the Principles of Leadership a.k.a Student Council. I held the position of class president since second semester of Freshman year and if all things went my way, I would have wanted to become Student Body President. Most know the saying “expect the unexpected”.

A New Question to Ask Yourself

A New Question to Ask Yourself

The most troubling question that I’m always uncomfortable answering is “What do you want to do with your life?” I hate this question. I mean it’s a great question and all and you get to look towards an optimistic future where you’re uberly successful and happy but, speaking for myself, it doesn’t really tell me much about who I am as a person. This could be due to my ridiculously cliche responses of wanting to be happy and making a lot of money or it could be due to my lack of effort in answer

We’ve all heard or read that dreaded four word phrase that seems to appear at the annual ball drop. Yes, it’s 2016 and songs like Justin Timberlake’s “Sexyback” and Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie” are officially 10 years old. But here we are, in the halls of Clark High School, still failing the same classes we were failing last year.

5 Things to do During No-School

5 Things to do During No-School

November It’s that time of year again - everyone’s favorite month of long weekends and holidays.

Ninja Turtle Retires

Ninja Turtle Retires

The voices of excited children saturate the air on the chilly evening as I attempt to get comfortable in my fold-able soccer chair seated on my inclined driveway. In that moment I had an epiphany. I was meant to be on that driveway, alone, handing out candy to all the ghosts and princesses in my neighborhood. The reason was simple: I was too old to be trick-or-treating.

Beats and Brains

Beats and Brains

Whether you have earbuds in 24/7, or you just like jamming out in the car ride home, you cannot escape the musical world we live in. With countless types of sounds and genres popular in culture nowadays, just about everyone has certain music they love to listen to. While some scour the web for the next come-up and others memorize every song by One Direction (we get it, you love British guys), music has become a focal point in society.

From a Coyote to a Charger

From a Coyote to a Charger

August 24, 2015. Oh wait, scratch that. August 27, 2015; the last first day of my high school career. This year was different, however, as this Southwest Coyote would soon become a Clark Charger. As with some in unfamiliar environments, an array of emotions clouded my head. Nervousness, excitement, impatience, fear (yes, I’m a senior who fears 14-18 year olds).

“The Glue of Iron”

“The Glue of Iron”

Heavy weights banging against the concrete floor. Fans and air conditioners on full blast on a hot Las Vegas summer afternoon in a smelly gym. Surrounded by large sweaty grown men wearing absurdly small tank tops that give off the perception that they are bigger than they actually are. This was what a majority of my summer break consisted of. Well, this and ice cream.

Ding, Ding, Ding! Meal Time!

Ding, Ding, Ding! Meal Time!

The school bell is ringing, the hallways are filling, and your stomach is grumbling. As you hurry down to the parking lot with your group of friends, you realize the lackluster of your usual afterschool snack and begin to mumble about your thirst for quality food. If you find yourself in this situation, take a look at these local restaurants, handpicked by Clark Chargers like yourself!

Tailgate Extravaganza

Tailgate Extravaganza

Close your eyes. Dream of an empty football stadium. Now dream that the stands are filled with your friends and the field is sprawling with a winning football team rocking black and gold. Not good enough yet? How about endless food and a few carnival games here and there? Good news, this isn’t a dream and all these things are yours to enjoy at Clark’s tailgate. One of the many things that gets students into the school spirit and brings out Charger Pride in everyone.

Billings Takes Distance

Billings Takes Distance

When students at Clark hear the name “Billings” they usually think of the middle-aged English and journalism teacher sitting in his run-down rolling chair, but this year some students know him as the distance track team coach.

Sabrina Wang: Striving for Success

Sabrina Wang: Striving for Success

Staying until eight after school seems routine for Sabrina Wang. A highly ambitious and dedicated student of Clark’s AMSAT (Academy of Math, Science, Arts, and Technology) Program, Wang is determined to make an impact on the world....

Ten Ways to Shame Your Calculus Teac

Ten Ways to Shame Your Calculus Teac

Shame! Shame! Shame! The calculus camp T – Shirt with its list of clever math puns is a rarity. With this year’s topic as being “Ten Ways to Shame Your Calculus Teacher” only students who attended the rigorous calculus camp will able to wear the shirt proudly. Taking place last Friday, students from Calculus AB/BC had the opportunity to prove themselves worthy.

Caution: Hot, Eat Carefully

Caution: Hot, Eat Carefully

Sugar, spice, and everything nice – Culture Fest at Clark was a huge success or more accurately, an international success. Clubs such as National Honor Society, Key Club, and Bible Club served food from different cultures last Friday after school. Not surprisingly, students throughout the entire campus gathered to satisfy their taste buds and famished stomachs to the delicacies of the East and the West.
