The Feeling of Getting Accepted into College
By Brian Gee 03/13/15
Rewind a few months back to December and January or even February on the video player, and the image of an innumerable amount of scholars are working frantically and tirelessly to gather their letters of recommendations and to write their personal statements to colleges in hopes that a few months later, they will see the words “Congratulations and Welcome to the Class of 2019.”
In order to provide a preview for what is coming in the next few months, I have interviewed a select few students currently attending Clark high school and have asked them for their sentiments regarding the wait for admission decisions. There are a few individuals who have already received their admission decisions and have graciously accepted an invitation to comment on the emotions and feelings that overcame them when they first opened their letters.
“I was ecstatic to find out that I received my first college acceptance letter from UT Austin. It really took a lot of weight off my shoulders as I'm sure many seniors wait for many months in anxiety, hoping to find out where they will for the next 4 years. And while I'm not sure if I will attend UT Austin for now, it still feels great to know that I got accepted somewhere great!”

"I get really happy when I receive acceptance letters from anything. It's not a big surprise getting into UNR, but it's a big sigh of relief that I have a good and affordable back up college. It lifts weight off of my chest. I don't have to worry so much. It’s always been my dream to attend a great college on the sunny west coast of California, so I will still be eagerly awaiting my admission decisions from USC and USD.

Sadly, not unlike the trip chocolate factory, there are only a limited number of acceptance letters that will be getting sent out. If you do not get accepted into your dream school, don’t fret, it is possible to obtain an excellent education in any college. Likewise, it is also possible for someone to fail and not learn anything at a prestigious college while someone from a less renowned school succeeds and ends up procuring a bright future. There are also many alternatives to college after high school, so don’t forget to look at those.
Along with the impending results of admissions will be many tears – both happy and sad. The future – or I should say your future – will only be as amazing as you choose to make it. But whatever happens, remember this one thing: you are, were, and forever will be a Clark Charger. Carry on your back everything you have learned at Clark, and keep charging on.
“
I was so happy to have been admitted to UNR. I feel like I can pursue my dreams and be successful in life.
