Volleyball Seniors had their last home game at Clark on October 28 against Faith. It was their Senior Night where families and friends came to watch the girls.  I got to interview Shyanna Carter-Wade (outside hitter), Gail Guerrero (setter), Neelee Brauner (middle), Alice (outside hitter) and Jinnie Monsalze (libero).

By Tearra Camacho 11/13/2014

Q: Do you plan on playing Volleyball in College?

Carter-Wade: Yes, I plan on playing Volleyball at Baylor University as an opposite or libero.

Q: How do you keep your motivation up when you lose a point?

J. Monsalze: The way I keep my motivation up is to think what decision is going to help my team. My motivation is my team and how it would help them and make them know that winning isn't everything, it’s just how you play the game.

Q: What was the best play you did in the season?

A. Monsalze: The best play I did was when the ball was going out of bounds from my teammate and I ran in and saved it.

Q: What was your highlight of this season?

J. Monsalze: The highlight of my season would have to be my Senior Night. Honestly, I didn't care if we won or not, it just mattered on how we played to our fullest potential. That night was the highlight of my senior year and my last volleyball season.

Q: What was the hardest thing you had to overcome?

Carter-Wade: The hardest thing I had to overcome this season was my attitude. In order for me to become a great player, I realized that I have to give effort during practices and respect those who are trying to help me.

Q: What was the best team bonding experience you've had this year?

Brauner: Our best team bonding this year was when we all went to Alex’s house to tye dye our t-shirts and we all slept over.

Q: What is something you learned in Volleyball that will later on help you in life?

Guerrero: I learned to work hard even when the odds are against you in the face of adversity.

Q: What was the worst injury you got in Volleyball?

Brauner: The worst injury i got is when I sprained both of my ankles twice. Someone landed under the net when she was blocking and I landed on her foot.

Q: What is one thing you’ll miss from this season?

Carter-Wade: The one thing I’ll miss are my amazing teammates and JO.

Q: What is your favorite memory from volleyball?

A. Monsalze: My favorite memory I had in Volleyball was my Senior Night and we received our gifts and came out strong in the game.

Congratulations to our very own women’s volleyball team for making us proud with yet another good season and we wish them good luck next year. They would like to thank everyone who came and showed their support.
