We are celebrating winter break with a spirit week. Student Council is trying to up the student body participation this year considering that it is our 50th anniversary. Listed below are the days for the spirit week, so you can be informed and know exactly what to wear so none of you will have excuses.
Monday will be Holiday Hat day; all you really have to wear is a holiday hat. Many may wear a Santa hat, but feel free to think outside of the box-- maybe make your own hat. Add a candy cane some red and green ribbons, maybe even some jingle bells. You can find different hats for cheap at Dollar Tree or the 99c store--you don’t have to go all out and spend all your money. If you happen to celebrate another holiday besides Christmas, then wear a hat corresponding to that. There’s a hat which has seven candles sticking out for all the Hanukkah celebrators out there. Monday is probably the easiest day to participate in this week.
Tuesday is ugly sweater day. You can sacrifice one day out of the week to rock that sweater your Great-Aunt Henrietta knitted you. If you don’t have a Great Aunt Henrietta to knit you sweaters, you can ask your grandma or your mom if they have one. If no one you know has one, fear not--Goodwill is your friend. It has to be a sweater that isn't appealing to the eye at all--ugly is the new black.
Wednesday is Candy Cane day. Another easy day to participate in again. For candy cane day, all you gotta do is dress like one--keep in mind that a traditional candy cane is red and white. If you really want to go all out, go ahead and buy a candy cane costume.
Thursday is Christmas down under--so dress like you live in Australia this time of year. For those of you who are geographically challenged, winter in the States is summer in ‘Straya. Dressing for summer shouldn’t be a problem considering the fact that we live in Vegas; the coldest it gets is probably 60 degrees fahrenheit. Do keep in mind that the dress code will still be enforced, so keep that itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, yellow, polka-dot bikini hidden until June.
Friday is the day to go all out with our school colors: black and gold. Nothing is more disappointing than to see students who can’t properly represent their school pride. Gather all your spirit gear and rock them on Friday. If you haven't already, you can buy charger wear at the charger warehouse.
This wintertacular Spirit Week, Student Council hopes that everyone participates. Don’t forget that you can always post a picture of you participating and post it on Twitter and @clarkchargers. To all Seniors, remember this is your LAST YEAR--make sure you’re going all out and doing everything you can do to make it the best year. There’s nothing better than participating in Spirit Weeks.
