They Did It Once Again!

by Bobbi Floyd 11-5-13

Last year, Clark’s tennis team put in a lot of work and time out of their day into becoming what they are now—state champs. This year they went for the gold and got it.

“We swept out the competition this year,” said Coach Chun, boys head tennis coach. “It was easy to do for them and that’s why we won.”

Two Clark individuals stood out this year. One was the senior, Deric Pang and the other was the junior, Chaitanya Ingle. Last year, the two boys competed in the doubles tennis match and won the championships. This year they fought hard for their state title and came out once again with the defending state title name two years in a row.

“We kept our energy up,” Ingle said. “We didn’t let anything get to us.”

That’s what they did. They stayed focused and didn’t let anything get in the way of their mission, another state championship.

“When I was a freshman, I never imagined that we’d end up here,” Pang said. “Before the division switch, we barely made it to playoffs every year. It’s been a lot of fun.”

Proud Clark Chargers will yet again see another state championship picture and plaque placed right next to the 2012-2013 one.

“We have done it two years in a row, I am so ready to see what we will bring home for next year,” said Ingle. “My team is my motivator and I am glad to be able to play with them throughout this whole year.”

Clark High School wants to give congratulations to the boys’ tennis team for the amazing season win.

Following last year’s accomplishment of becoming state champions, the Clark Chargers tennis team has done it again. Clark’s tennis team is once again state champions.
