Summer of 2014: Own It

There are tons of activities to do in the summer; Las Vegas is full of endless ideas. From shows inside to rides way up in the sky. You can even have fun at home.

You might want to go everywhere, but first, I advise you to make a summer bucket list. In order from what you REALLY want to do, to things that least interests you. Next to the idea, you may want to write the total cost of it. To keep track of spending, having fun can be pricey.

The first thing on your list, though it won’t be in summer but close, should be the Maleficent movie coming out on the 30th of this month. It’s a must see in IMAX 3D (because that’s the only way to watch a movie in theaters.)

The second can be completely of your choosing. If you want to stay indoors and avoid the ruthless Vegas heat then I understand. There are shows you can attend and even exhibits! You can even relax in the shark reef aquarium through a tunnel of awe sea creatures. If you’re feeling adventurous, the circus circus has a never ending fun policy, rides indoor at the Adventuredome and carnival booths set out just outside the entrance.

For the daredevils who don’t fear heights, and kids who can withstand the heat, the stratosphere is somewhere you must go. It has rides at the very top; being way up high is the added fun! There’s even the newly built High Roller and skydiving arena here in Vegas! Don’t forget about Wet’n’Wild.

Just want to take a stroll? There is the Springs Preserve, Parks (like Charlie Frias for example a few minutes away), the strip, Fremont Street, and shopping centers.

Not everyone has the money to do fun things all the time, a simple game of basketball or soccer will do. Buy a cheap little bag of water balloons and start a fight! Go swimming, skate, ride your bike, play with your pets, go down the slide, head to the movies, bowling, ice skating. Just have fun. You have 3 months to relax, enjoy it. Sleep in all day, get fat, run if you want to, get a summer job. It all depends on you.

Not everyone likes to go out, and that’s okay. Rent movies buy a little junk food and have a movie day. No need to be with people. You can have blast on your own, focus on yourself, and possibly change your appearance, get a new look. That won’t hurt. Many people experiment with themselves. Try something new.

It’s the summer of 2014, time to put aside all of your worries. Don’t lock yourself inside. Travel. Explore. Learn. Make memories. Don’t regret being inside all the time. Have something to say when you get back to school. Now look at that Bucket List and think about which you want to cross of the list.
