Senior Wrap Up
By Jordan Layola 5/20/2014
The twelve year long journey of public school education has come to a close for the class of 2014. Seniors are in the deepest stage of senioritis, for this is the point in time where AP testing is complete and the flow of assignments to turn in has declined. The seniors now can ultimately relax, and shift into cruise control.
The once in a lifetime experience that is high school is not over yet; there are fewer than two weeks left. This is just enough time to tie up all those loose ends.
Confess your feelings. That girl or guy you’ve thought was cute since freshman year is probably never going to see you again. You’ve just got to grow a pair and step up to the plate to show them how you feel. There’s nothing else to lose. The sickening feeling of regret will consume you, and all you’ll be able to think about when someone mentions that special girl or guy’s name is “what if?” Yeah, what if? What if that person was theperson you were to be married to?
Make Amends. Along with making great friends, you’ve probably already made enemies. Hating on someone takes precious energy in your tank that you should save for other important things, like kissing that guy or girl you’ve just confessed your feelings to. So, it may just take a simple heartfelt apology to set a stepping stone for a great friendship. It also makes it easier on yourself if they attend the same college.
Hang Out. It’s time to just sit back and relax. There are no more tests and homework, if any. Now is the early start to a fantastic summer. Participate in everything social there is. No more fake excuses. Say yes to all those invites on Facebook for parties, events, and Farmville. Don’t be that ironic loser who spends most of his time on his phone looking at social media during a party. Get out there and ask your friends to go do things. Go hiking, ice skating, swimming, watch movies, pig out at random restaurants.
