Reevaluate for Second Quarter

Along with the quick progression of the school year, there is also pressure and stress for students to stay aware of their academic standings. However, the end of first quarter can also be the time to applaud for early achievements and to prepare for academic success in the remaining school year.
Sophomore, Michelle Malwane, said, “The end of the quarter reminded me that I have to be on top of things and not fall behind.”
First quarter is generally the time where students adjust to their new classes and the various teaching styles and requirements from their teachers.
It’s a great time for students to reevaluate their study habits and to realize what needs to be changed.
“Every teacher is different. It takes a while to get the hang of it,” said Malwane.
To some students, second quarter will be quite feverish.
Sophomore, Sarah Mekonnen, said, “I have to get better grades in some of my classes so I can do well for the semester.”
First quarter may have been a laid-back quarter to some, but the halfway mark of the first semester brought attention to those old goals that need to be reevaluated and what new goals to set.
“I have to balance my time between the things I need to do more wisely,” said Mekonnen.
Altering the way studying and homework are done can lead to better chances of doing better and the possibility of exceeding the goals set for the quarter.
Not procrastinating and slacking in classes and being attentive of grades play a major role in each quarter. With certain grade requirements made for athletes, magnet students, and club members, a slip can put opportunities at risk.
Grades are of the greatest importance at this time, so focus and strive for the best.
Even though homework may occasionally dominate most of one’s time, be sure to make it a top priorities. It saves time and stress when the end of the quarter nears.
Everyone has the chance to keep their grades up and finish strong in the following nine weeks of second quarter.
Keep priorities and goals clear and make the rest of the first semester count.
Two months in and students are already halfway through the first semester. The end of first quarter marks the time for many to reassess their goals and to organize what needs to be accomplished for the following quarter.
