Although Fre is not the most famous runner on the team, he is surely one to look out for, being one of the top runners in the school and an exceptional scholar.

Fre was born in Eritrea, a small country on the coast of Africa, a place that, according to him, feels like home. On October 28, 2009 he moved to the United States. Although, his family moved to America for a better life style Fre still misses his home.

“I like it here [in Vegas] and in Eritrea equally,” said Fre. “There are something’s that are just unique about Eritrea that Vegas will never be able to have.”

Flimon Fre is a highly competitive runner, he runs for Clark’s cross country team and the track team. Not only is he very competitive, he’s also very talented. There is a lot of talk about Mucuranyana Amon, also known as Freddy, but Fre seems to fly successfully under the radar.

According to teammate Marcos Banchik, Fre is this year’s runner to watch, he’s hardworking and a generally great sport.

Not only is Fre a talented athlete he is also a very bright scholar. He is currently in Clark’s very rigorous AMSAT program. To him education is just as, if not more important than his athletics. He strives to do well in school and to take advantage of America’s school system.

“Flimon is really smart, it’s actually really impressive. I don’t know how he balances AMSAT work and running all the time,” said junior Maria Lola Eulloqui. “He’s always really helpful too, especially in physics when the teacher has everyone confused.”

Flimon Fre is one of the over looked athletes and students at Clark; although, he is not as recognized as other athletes, he is still one to watch out for. You can always catch him running around the school or in the hallways deliberately smiling and laughing. All in all we wish him a good luck on the rest of his cross country season and wish him the recognition he deserves.

As students let out a sigh of release at the end of a long school day, and pile into their means of transportation home, Flimon Fre, being one who will not be relaxing at home right after school, laces up his running shoes for an afternoon of grueling cross country practice.
